Fostering three types of green behavior through green HRM in the energy sector: the conditional role of environmental managerial support

Purpose Drawing on the social exchange theory (SET) and self-determination (SDT), present study aims to examine impact of green human resource management (GHRM) three types employee behavior (EGB) – in-role, innovative extra-role in presence environmental managerial support (EMS) as a conditional factor. Design/methodology/approach The research model was verified based data from 419 respondents employed companies operating energy sector Poland (Europe’s “coal heartland”). PLS-SEM used statistical analyses. Findings This shows that GHRM positively impacts EGB. EMS moderates relationships with both behaviors work behaviors; however, does not play moderating role relationship between in-role behaviors. Originality/value study, being one kind, enriches literature by exploring integrated practices offers evidence rarely examined sector, which plays vital transformation nations toward sustainable development.
